Hot Yoga Should Not Be Hell

Hot Yoga should not be hell. I recently took my first hot yoga class not given by my Mom or me in decades. It was a silent class which I chose as a better option to avoid the auctioneer like, non stop dialogue. The external focus of the class was stellar. Eyes at one point. The main problem was the extreme heat and carelessness in doing the yoga poses. I teach and practice yoga with intention. Stability first, movement second. Where is the anchor, where is the movement and power source for the movement, how does the breath play into all of that. Why does the pose exist? The heat and sweating gives you deep access to increase circulation to organs, glands and muscles. But if you’re spending more time drinking water and trying to survive than doing the pose, what are you doing?
